Memory Quilt

This was a clothing based quilt done for a friend whose son died while cliff-fishing in Hawaii.  She intended to give it to her grandson, so he would have something to remember his dad by.  Chuck was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan, Blues and Rams fan so those kind of things were included from jackets or hoodies.  The borders are from shorts or pants that he wore.  The backing was fleece which made it a very heavy quilt ... kind of like the sensory blankets they use with some of the special ed kids in school.  The fleece has a tendency to shift during quilting and I need to baste next time with thread not just safety pins.
 I used his initials

Traced a cardinal onto a plain square

Traced a "note" outline for the Blues logo.

And had some Cardinals fleece to go with the red on the backing.
